About Me

img_4575-1Former gymnast, current college nutrition professor, and perpetual vacation planner.

I was born in Oregon and raised in Montana, went to college in Washington and grad school in Connecticut, but ultimately returned to my mountain roots in 2018 when we relocated to Denver. My husband (Pat) and I have spent the past 5 years exploring the never-ending beauty of Colorado and the surrounding states. While most of my current posts are focused on our adventures in the Colorado Rockies, I am also working toward my goal of summitting as many US state high points as possible (currently at 15/50), visiting all the US states (45/50) and Canadian provinces/territories (7/13), US National Parks (29/63) and making my way to as many countries as possible (4/197). Along the way, I hope to also cross some other things off my travel bucket list.

In the meantime, I hope that my travel experiences can inspire others and that I can provide some useful information about the places I’ve visited.

Once a gymnast, always a gymnast, hence my need to do a handstand at pretty much every beautiful (and sometimes precarious) place I visit.

For more background on me, this blog, and our travels, see my first post and/or connect with me on instagram (@handstandiana).

Enjoy 🙂
