Well, the semester is over and it’s almost summer, and I’m not sure how that happened because I feel like it was just January about two weeks ago. Winter sure held on for far too long out here in New England.
But travel season has finally arrived, and with it, a busy couple months for Pat and me. We recently spent a day in New York City, which I’ll be writing all about in an upcoming post. In a few days, we’re headed off to the Adirondacks for our final state high point attempt before we move away from the east coast… Mount Marcy.
Next comes our vacation to Germany, where we (along with Pat’s dad, stepmom, and brother) will be visiting Pat’s other brother and sister-in-law for a couple days and then biking along the Rhine from Mannheim to Cologne.
Then is our North Carolina trip; Pat, my mom, and I will be joining my uncle for a 3 day hike along the Appalachian Trail, and then spending a couple days in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
And then Pat and I will be packing up our apartment (actually, we’ve already started, and it looks like a tornado came through) and heading off to our new home in Denver!
All of this in about a 5-6 week time span. We’re going to be absolutely exhausted when all is said and done.
But we’re very excited for all of our upcoming adventures, as well as for the cross-country move. We’ll be road tripping and seeing as much as we can along the way, meaning I’ll have a lot of new places to write about in coming months!
But in the meantime, I’m going to be taking a mini-hiatus from this blog. I’m just not going to have the time to keep up with a regular posting schedule or with replying to comments or reading all of everyone else’s wonderful posts, so if you notice my temporary absence, this is why. But I’ll be back in early July once we’re settled into our new place in Denver.
Pat and I are very eager to begin exploring our new home once we get there so any Denver/Colorado recommendations would be much appreciated.
In the meantime, I’ve recently joined Instagram (@handstandiana) so you can follow along with our travel marathon there if you’d like (and I’d love to connect with you all on Instagram as well!).
Enjoy the beginning of your summer, have some wonderful adventures, and I can’t wait to read all about them when I come back.
Cheers!
Diana
